Anchor Warehouse, Penryn, Cornwall, UK
Anchor Warehouse in Penryn, Cornwall, is a grade II Listed Building
and as such was subject to a comprehensive archaeological recording
programme for Harbour Village Ltd. before and during a redevelopment
program to satisfy a condition on the planning permission.
The project location, in the centre of Penryn, Cornwall, encompassed
a 19th century bone mill and chemical works complex.
Historical research documented the evolution of the site from
the late 16th century to the present day. This was complemented
by archaeological excavation, a building survey and an archaeological
watching brief to record details of a number of features within
the complex.

Working in association with the Historic Environment
Service (HES), Cornwall County Council, we have produced three
interpretive panels for the finished development. Whilst a full
report is available from HES, an article about the site will also
be published in the Industrial
Archaeological Review later this year.
