Outreach

We recognise the value people attach to their historic environment and offer a comprehensive presentation and lecture service to publicise projects, to raise sites profiles and to help deliver the social value of archaeological sponsorship.

The dissemination of archaeological and historical information is the overriding aim of all archaeological work and its appropriate publication is, by extension, the duty of all professional archaeologists. The archaeological and historical resource is a finite, collective resource and as such is subject to considerable legislative protection throughout the EU and beyond. For this reason, whilst confidentiality is central to all our client relationships, the maximising of our clients profile through the successful publication of sites is fundamental. To this end we offer a wide range of publication media, allowing the most appropriate audience to be targeted, including:

  • Information panels and display cases
  • Talks, openings and open days
  • Lectures and academic publications
  • Web-based promotions
  • Press releases

The appropriate publication of all archaeological sites correctly places the information back with the public at a local, national and occasionally international level, successfully advertising our client’s involvement in the project at every phase.

In the last six months we have given a number of presentations, including papers to the Royal Society of Antiquities, the Discovery Programme, University College Dublin (UCD), Sligo Institute of Technology, Truro College, as well as more informal talks and discussions with a variety of public bodies.

Future presentations include proposed papers for the World Archaeological Convention (Ireland 2008), the European Archaeological Association (Malta 2008), as well as smaller scale presentations in both Cornwall and Ireland.
